RFS Bushfire Update 13 November 2019

4 years ago | by

Check out the latest bushfire information for the community. Issued by the Rural Fire Service at 10.30am on Wednesday, 13th November 2019.

Despite the significant fire behaviour in the Coffs Harbour and Bellingen LGA’s, the impact of the fire was less than anticipated on Tuesday 12th November. Early reports are indicating that multiple structures may have been impacted as a result of the fires. NSW RFS Building Impact Assessment Teams will assess the areas for exact details over the coming days.

A High fire danger and statewide Total Fire Ban remains in place across the Coffs Harbour and Bellingen LGA’s today. There is still fire activity throughout the region and the risk to the community remains.

The Liberation Fire, burning North West of Nana Glen is still active. Firefighters, supported by water bombing aircraft are working to get an upper hand on fires in the vicinity of Nana Glen and Glenreagh. To date, the fires have been held west of the Orara River.

Significant rainfall is required to reduce the fire risk, and with long-term weather forecasts not indicating any meaningful rainfall into the near future.

 It is safe to return home APART from residents living in the Orara Valley north of Coramba and south of Glenreagh and west of the intersection of Randalls Road and Bucca Road. Roads are closed at these points.
