This week is National Child Protection Week (3-9 September 2017) and Coffs Harbour’s libraries are doing their bit by offering parents and guardians the chance to borrow ‘My Underpants RULE!’ – a book designed to teach young children protective behaviours to keep them safe.
The book is a fun, bright and lively book aimed at capturing the attention of young children from 3 to 8 and encourages them to empower themselves without causing them concern.
It is reinforced by rhymes and scenarios to emphasise what is appropriate and inappropriate behaviour and what to do in difficult situations.
The book is available at Coffs Harbour, Woolgoolga and Toormina Libraries and will be on display at the regular Storytime sessions.
It is a great way to start a conversation within families about staying safe.
For more information, visit the My Underpants RULE! website at www.myunderpantsrule.com or drop into your local library to borrow a copy.
The Storytime sessions are held at:
- Woolgoolga Tuesdays 11am-11.45am
- Coffs Harbour Wednesdays 11am-11.45am
- Toormina Thursdays 11am-11.45am
