An exciting art performance is coming to the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery for the first time on September 7 when Sand Artist John Thiering brings his live show to the venue.

Sand Art is an exciting new medium where the artist draws pictures in sand on a light box, live in front of an audience.
The pictures morph into each other to create a moving and intriguing narrative. The performance is accompanied by a soundtrack and projected onto a big screen.
John describes the show as: “A live performance featuring visually stunning imagery and powerful stories of human drama.”
John has performed his Sand Art shows in Europe, the South Pacific and throughout Australia and at arts festivals, corporate events, theatres, private parties and other venues. Most recently he has been a guest entertainer on Princess Cruises.
He has also collaborated with other artists including musicians, actors, dancers and video artists to create a unique live experience that intrigues the senses.
‘Journeys Through Sand’ will be at the Gallery for one night only on Thursday, September 7. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Tickets cost $15 for adults, but entry is free for accompanied youth and children.
