6 Degrees Coworking Hub Woolgoolga will open its doors on Thursday June 22 thanks to a collaborative bid to deliver the NSW Department of Industry’s Future Towns Program in our region.
$1 million in funding was made available through the Program to support 20 regional towns to help their small businesses become digital ready and consider new and innovative ways to undertake place activation activities. Woolgoolga was identified as a participant for the program and Council received $50,000 to deliver the Digitally Growing Your Business program which was developed by Council’s Industry and Destination Development Section to:
- Deliver a series of 8 workshops for local small businesses to increase their capabilities and understanding of digital marketing and business.
- Establish and launch the 6 Degrees Coworking Hub Woolgoolga.
Coming on the back of the success of 6 Degrees Coffs Harbour, Woolgoolga’s Coworking Hub is an initiative that supports and encourages an innovative, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment within the Northern Beaches business community.
“6 Degrees Coworking Hub Woolgoolga aims to provide a one-stop-shop to support, encourage and back local small businesses and startups within the Woolgoolga and Northern Beaches region providing resources and tools to help them establish, network and grow,” said Stephen Saunders, Section Leader, Industry and Destination Development, Coffs Harbour City Council. “6 Degrees Coworking Hub Woolgoolga has been made possible through the support of Woolgoolga Chamber of Commerce who have partnered with Council on the delivery of this service to the Northern Beaches.”
President of Woolgoolga Chamber of Commerce, Cherie Topfer said: “We are very excited to have the 6 Degrees Coworking Hub in Woolgoolga which will offer permanent or casual desk space for coworkers at affordable rates as well as being the Northern Beaches hub for 6 Degrees workshops, lunchtime sharing sessions and the famous Pitch Your Passion events. If you are a freelancer or working from home this is the space to connect and get a boost to your business motivation, if you are thinking of starting a business this is a great space to help you launch that idea.”
