Legal eagles from Legal Aid NSW will be running free sessions on Cyber Safety for Older People and Navigating NSW Traffic Law at the Harry Bailey Memorial Library during National Law Week 2017 which runs from May 15-21.
“Each year, the Library hosts a Law Week event that brings legal experts or advocates directly to the public,” said Enzo Accadia, Council’s Section Leader Community Programs.
“These have always been very popular and each time we try and cover a new area of legislation. Cyber safety and the law surrounding road rules are both hot topics so we’re very glad to be able to offer these to the community.”
The Library will host the sessions on:
- Monday May 15th from 2-3pm – Cyber Safety for Older People. This session will outline common on-line scams, how to identify them and provide practical tips on protecting yourself online. It also covers how to report scams to authorities.
- Wednesday May 17th from 2 -3pm – Drive: Navigating NSW Traffic Law. This session looks at the laws that govern traffic and regulate vehicles. Topics include traffic offences, going to court, penalties and licences.
