Mem Fox In Conversation

6 years ago | by

‘Possum Magic’ author Mem Fox will be at Bishop Druitt College in North Boambee Road on March 22 as the guest of Coffs Harbour’s Libraries for an in-conversation event aimed at parents, teachers and librarians.

The author, one of Australia’s most prolific and best-loved children’s authors, will share her knowledge and practical advice on how to encourage reading in children.

“Mem Fox has written over 40 books and has established herself as Australia’s greatest contributor to children’s literature,” said Roslyn Cousins, Team Leader Library Museum and Gallery Community Programs.

‘Possum Magic’ was first published 34 years ago and has been in print ever since. It is Australia’s bestselling picture book of all time and continues to seize the imagination of generations of young readers to this day.

“We’re thrilled to have Mem here for this event.”

Mem will also take the opportunity to introduce her latest book – ‘I’m Australian Too’.

This new picture book is a proud celebration of Australia’s amazing cultural diversity. The author’s unabashed love of Australia beams from the pages with the story enhanced by sensitive, distinctive illustrations from Ronojoy Ghosh.

Bookings are essential for this event, which starts at 5.30pm and runs until 8pm on March 22.
