A unique opportunity to visit a little-known remnant of coastal forest at Roberts Hill and meet its night-time inhabitants is being offered to locals and visitors by Council and the National Park and Wildlife Service (NPWS).
NPWS Discovery Rangers will guide you through this fun night of nocturnal spotlighting as you search for everything from spiders and frogs, to the more elusive gliders and possums. You may even meet a koala – one of Australia’s most iconic and vulnerable species.
This special experience will also provide fascinating insights into the biodiversity values within our own backyard and what we can all do to help protect them.
Using powerful torches, you will walk high above the city at night when the forest comes alive and reveals its mysterious flipside.
The walk will take place on Saturday, January 21, from 8pm–9.30pm. Participants should bring a small torch and wear enclosed shoes and long trousers.
The walk is free, but bookings are essential as places are limited. Call 02 6648 4210 to secure your spot.
